Why agent builders are not operating systems
A canvas for wiring steps together solves a different problem from running complex work that must be evidenced and approved.
Building a sequence of automated steps is a solved problem, and a crowded market. It is also not the hard part of complex work.
The hard part is everything around the sequence: the context it needs, the evidence it must carry, the approval it must obtain, and the record it must leave behind. A tool that runs steps but forgets the reasoning gives you faster output and no more institutional knowledge than you had before.
An operating layer is judged on what remains after the run.
